Hamilton County Juvenile Court Safe Harbor Protocols
Description:
Ohio’s Safe Harbor law establishes access to juvenile justice diversionary programming for youth who have been charged with an offense related to their trafficking victimization, and Hamilton County (a subgrantee of funding) developed protocols for implementation of this programming in their juvenile court. The protocol provides an overview of the Safe Harbor statute, details the established screening practices within different access points of their system, describes the roles and responsibilities of implementation of these protocols within the juvenile court personnel and establishes the community partners on their Multi-Disciplinary Team that interact with the identified youth.
