The Delaware Anti Trafficking Action Council (DATAC)

The Delaware Anti Trafficking Action Council (DATAC), as part of the Criminal Justice Council (CJC), is partnering with the University of Delaware to address systems-level barriers to the identification and assistance of child and youth victims of sex and labor trafficking. The barriers identified were limited documented knowledge regarding the extent that children and youth are trafficked in the state and what services, support, and interventions provide a successful outcome in helping those children successfully recover from the experience and reintegrate into society.

Through their Improving Outcomes award, Delaware seeks to improve responses and outcomes for child and youth sex and labor human trafficking victims in the state of Delaware through overcoming barriers in identifying and treating victims and working with them to develop evidence-based programs and interventions that improve outcomes for this population. In addition, the goal is to fill and close existing gaps in services and coordinate responses in existing anti-trafficking and youth-serving efforts, including those related to victim assistance, law enforcement, child welfare, runaway and homeless youth, and juvenile justice, among others.
